Filled with chocolates or sweets of your choice, this little basket makes a lovely Easter treat for a friend or family member. Or, for a birthday present with a personal touch, why not fill it with some mini-soaps?
I’ve used some of our Sew Lovely printable papers but you can use any papers and decorations you like to put your own stamp on the project.
Supplies:
Sew Lovely Printable Papers from www.crafterscompanion.co.uk/choice-magazine-sewing
Printable white paper white stamping card
Harmony Ink Frosted Lake
Border punch
Hole Punch
Satin gold card
Gems
Two brads
Finger Lift tape
3D Glue Gel
To create:
1) Cut a piece of white stamping card to 15cm x 15cm and score on all sides at 5cm. In the top section, cut down the two score lines until you meet the horizontal score line across the middle. In the bottom section, cut up the two score lines until you meet the horizontal score line across the middle – as shown in the photograph. This is now the base of your basket
2) Print off your choice of papers and embellishments from the download and create a sentiment on your computer program – alternatively, use a suitable sentiment stamp from your stash
3) Cut six 4.5cm x 4.5cm squares from your patterned paper for the front and back of your basket, and two contrasting patterned squares also measuring 4.5cm x 4.5cm for the sides of your basket. Ink the edges with matching ink
4) Cut a piece of white stamping card to 20cm x 4.5cm. Punch a pretty border along the edges and mat with a piece of patterned paper measuring 20cm x 2cm. This will make the handle of your basket
5) Assemble your box. Adhere the panels to the basket base. Use a hole punch to create a hole in the top and bottom of the handle as well as in the box panels, then secure with a brad
6) Fussy-cut the printed flower images to make embellishments and adhere to the front of the basket with 3D Glue Gel around a sentiment matted on to gold satin card. Finish with pearls, add tissue inside the basket and fill with mini chocolate eggs for the perfect Easter gift.
