Franco Manca pledge to donate 20,000 pizzas this Christmas

FRANCO MANCA PLEDGES TO DONATE FREE PIZZA TO HELP THOSE MOST IN NEED THIS DECEMBER

Sourdough pizzeria, Franco Manca, will donate 20,000 free pizzas to those in need this December

The 25th no exception, the company has also pledged to open a select number of pizzeria on Christmas day itself

Charities, foodbanks and shelters are encouraged to contact Franco Manca to arrange a collection by emailing donations@francomanca.co.uk

Sourdough pizza pioneer, Franco Manca, has pledged to donate 20,000 free pizzas to help those most in need this festive season. To assist them in doing so, they are now calling upon relevant charities, shelters, food banks and members of the public to reach out and arrange an order of pizzas to aid those requiring extra sustenance and support on the approach to Christmas.

Available across Franco Manca’s 42 pizzeria, with locations ranging from Oxford to Brighton and London to Bristol, the initiative will run from the 1st - 14th December 2018, aiming to help those most vulnerable.

In addition, Franco Manca has decided to especially open a select number of pizzerias on Christmas Day itself, providing a free collections service for those in need and unable to enjoy a festive dinner in comfort. This service will also be available to others hard at work on the 25th – such as emergency service workers, who will be dedicating their Christmas day to meeting the needs of others.

Franco Manca’s pledge follows the company’s previous initiatives to help those without food or shelter. Last Christmas, the Neapolitan pizza restaurant opened their Soho pizzeria and collaborated with several London charities to provide food. During this year’s ‘Beast from the East’ snow storm, the company also donated thousands of free pizzas to help the homeless as temperatures around the UK plummeted.

Franco Manca spokesperson, Sandro Spahiu, said: “Charity initiatives such as this one have always been incredibly important to us here at Franco Manca. We always strive to do our bit to give something back, and are so grateful to our wonderful employees across the UK who are always willing to pitch in to make sure as many people in need are helped. Without them, none of this would be possible.”

The 20,000 free pizzas will be available for collection across each of Franco Manca’s 42 branches, with the Christmas day offering available at select pizzerias in London and Bristol*.

Collections can be organised by emailing the Franco Manca team at donations@francomanca.co.uk or, to find out more on the initiative, please head to www.francomanca.co.uk/donations/.

Suggestions of suitable organisations the pizzeria can assist are also encouraged, with the UK public asked to share their recommendations via the same email address, or on social @francomancapizz. To source your nearest Franco Manca, visit: http://www.francomanca.co.uk/restaurants

*At select pizzerias including Bristol and Soho, London.
