You will need:

Rust-Oleum Furniture Paint Satin Finish Carbon

Rust-Oleum Metallic Furniture Paint Gold

Wallpaper of your choice

Wallpaper paste

Replacement handles, if necessary. These were purchased from Amazon

Rust-Oleum Furniture Wax Clear

Masking Tape

Scissors

For best results use a sharp knife

1) Remove the drawers and paint the unit in the black paint. We wanted to leave the wood showing around the edges of the drawers so used masking tape to mask these off. Leave to dry then apply a second coat

2) Measure and cut your wallpaper roughly to size

Top Tip - match the wallpaper pattern to give the best effect!

3) Remove the existing draw handles and then paste the wallpaper and apply it

Top Tip - we used a wallpapering straight edge tool to really smooth it down and avoid creases/wrinkles. Cut the excess wallpaper

4) Apply the clear wax to the wood that was left unpainted. This will bring out the grain and breathe life into the tired-looking piece

5) There had been some gold gilding on the original piece, so we applied the Gold metallic furniture paint here to bring that out and restore it

6) Apply new handles and then pop the drawers back into their places.
