Clive in Tirol: Dressing up

On the 5th and 6th of December villagers dress up in costumes and masks, make a lot of noise beating the living daylights out of homemade drums as they parade round the streets to ward off evil spirits and protect the local farmers. Carved with a chainsaw, the masks look pretty intimidating and would put the wind up the devil himself. I’m guessing that plenty of alcohol fuels the parade and makes the event more enjoyable than scary. Good fun!
