Clive Goes Hiking in Tuscany 10

My Hedonistic Hiking tour is a mix of walking in fabulous Tuscany, historic towns, fine dining and a bit of culture along the way. I’m on my way to a pre-dinner wine tasting in Volterra when I pass this monument to those lost in war. This area had a complex role in WWII. It was not always clear who was fighting who but the local partisans fought heroically in this region and I like to think that this memorial honours those very brave men and women who stood their ground against the German occupation.
