Clive's Countryside Blog: May 6th
The bluebells are out! Ten years ago I sowed masses of seeds. I tried to do everything right, storing the seeds in the fridge and following all the rules but they have been a disappointment up to now. This year, they look better, though not quite the carpet of flowers that I had expected but still showing potential. I’m happy with that. Maybe next year will continue the improvement. I’m not much of a gardener, I think I’m too impatient but I still marvel at the beauty of nature. Even though I’m rubbish, somehow nature wins through and is a constant delight. With all the bickering over Brexit, a walk in the woods puts everything in perspective. Politicians are here today, gone tomorrow but hopefully the bluebells will endure for years to come.
