Clive's Countryside Blog: Feb 7th

Such a nice day yesterday, I left work early to get home in time to do a bit of tree maintenance. A couple of branches were growing out horizontally about 30ft from the trunk. Cue the chainsaw. Soon had it sorted. I cut off the thin stuff and logged the rest. I planned to chip the thin branches and collect up the logs for drying out, today. I went outside: 30mph winds and chucking it down with rain. I like fresh air but not that fresh. I retreat to my little office that I’ve got at home, turn the heating up and settle down to write about my recent trip to Arizona - you can read about it in the March issue of Choice. The rain is battering against the windows, the pheasants are huddled up in the shelter of the hedge. It’s really unpleasant out there. Good decision - the logs will still be there tomorrow.
