Clive in Arizona: Day 7

I left Monument Valley after watching the sunrise turn night into day. Temperature well below freezing, they still work in Fahrenheit here, quite refreshing. It’s a 180 miles to Flagstaff but it’s an easy drive and I soon hit Route 66 as I cruise into town. It’s still a big railroad centre but it’s Route 66 that’s a big draw for me. I pick up a self guided walking map from the Visitor Centre (it’s in the old railroad station snuggled between the rail tracks and Route 66). I walk the route and tick off the sights. Progress has swept away some of the history but it’s all still there beneath the surface, you’ve just got to look for it. Get your kicks...
