Editors Letter March: Choice Travel Grows
It's often faint praise when people tell me how much they enjoyed one of my articles in Choice " The photography was wonderful" they say.
That is of course down tot eh magazine's talented cameraman Clice Nicholls but I take no offence because they are right. You can see his work in this issue, with some great shots of the Italian Dolomites. And next month his pictures from a wildlife safari in Namibia will be on the show.
When we are away in a travel feature we are anxious until we get some pictures under our belt. The weather and the itinerary cause concern until we can review the days pictures in the evening,
But the biggest challenge we face is when we get back to the office. We have to narrow upwards of 500 pictures down to perhaps 20 to use in the magazine.
Scores of shots we would like to use stay behind o the computer, We just don';t have enough pages for all of them.
Although now we have come up with a way to make more available- on the internet.
We have launched a new website as well as our existing magazine website. The website is www.worldwidetraveller.co.uk as well as the social media sites that are de rigeur these days. If you'd like to see more of the places we feature at home and overseas then give them a try. Who knows, I might even write a few more words, but I promise not a thousand for every picture!
